ABC’s “The View” is set to host President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama’s first joint daytime TV talk show interview on Sept. 25.
The interview will tape on Sept. 24 in New York City, ABC News announced on Thursday. The hosts plan to ask the president and first lady about their relationship, family life and the 2012 race, according to the network.
“We are honored to host President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama,” co-host Barbara Walters said in a statement. “This first joint appearance marks a significant milestone.”
The interview is part of the show’s “Red, White & View” political series.
“The View” hit headlines earlier this week by getting a mention during Mitt Romney’s “47 percent” video, where the Republican nominee dubbed the show “high risk” because of the show’s “sharp tongued” women hosts. On Wednesday, co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck told viewers that the Mitt Romney and his wife Ann Romney will visit the show sometime in October, Deadline reported.
“The Governor has been to The View and we have had a wonderful visit. And his team confirms this morning that the Romneys would once again love to join the sharp-tongued chatter in October,” she said Wednesday on the show.
