Suspicious Vehicle Near White House Investigated

But streets re-open without incident

By Evann Gastaldo, Newser Staff

Streets were shut down for almost two hours around the White House this morning as the Secret Service investigated a suspicious vehicle nearby, the Washington Post reports. One Metro station entrance was also closed and buses were delayed as DC police and US park police assisted in the investigation. No incidents or injuries were reported, and investigators have not said what made the vehicle suspicious. It has since been cleared and the streets re-opened.
