Woman Sells Positive Pregnancy Tests on Craigslist
A Craigslist ad in which a woman sells positive pregnancy tests has me scratching my head. Why on earth would anyone want a test someone else has used? But according to the expectant seller, some people are willing to pay $25 for a peed upon stick with a plus sign on it.
According to the Huffington Post, a Buffalo mom-to-be is successfully profiting off selling her pregnancy tests on the popular website. In fact, what was once a free service now has a fairly hefty price tag attached to it.
“Ever since I became pregnant, I have been asked numerous times for a positive test, so I decided to start charging for it! I will take the test the same day you want to pick it up! I [don’t] care what you use it for, not my business! ;),” the ad reads.
So what could women be using the tests for? To mess with their husbands? Even if you produce a positive pregnancy test as evidence of having a baby on the way, eventually the gig will be up when your belly doesn’t grow. I don’t get it!
Furthermore, it seems a little twisted that this Craigslist mama is willing to pee on pregnancy tests for cash. Why would she want to exploit her pregnancy in this way? She must be pretty desperate for money if she is willing to sell evidence she’s expecting. The whole thing is sad, actually.
It just goes to show that nothing is sacred anymore; not even pregnancy…at least to this one mom. I can only imagine what this mom will sell once her baby is born. The umbilical cord stub? Dirty diapers? Ew.
Meanwhile, as a pregnant mom myself, I can guarantee that I will not be peeing on a pregnancy test for anyone else to use. So don’t even ask!
What do you think people are buying positive pregnancy tests for?
