West also addresses Confederate flag controversy

There’s little love lost between Kanye West and President Obama, and West has issued the latest salvo: In an interview with Hot 107.9 this morning, West said he felt used by the president and is basically over him, the Washington Times reports. “I’m not gonna mention him no more, I’m past that. That’s out my thoughts. That’s lowering my priority of thinking at this point,” he said. How about the fact that Obama seemed pretty chummy with West while he was campaigning? “I just think that we’re pop icons, and the president likes to use that type of thing just to be down,” West explained.

“I don’t care if someone’s the president or not,” he continued. “I care about thoughts and how you helping people and what you bring to the world.” He also mentioned his controversial use of the Confederate flag, AllHipHop.com reports: “You don’t ever know what I’m trying to do. Black people stopping other black people from getting checks. What black people don’t know is that racism is something that white people don’t even have to do anymore because we hate each other more than white people hate us. It’s like a real estate on racism—it works on itself. People got bills. Don’t nobody care about the Confederate flag on that type of level.” It’s been an eventful few days for West: Yesterday he lectured at Harvard. Really.
