Queens man arrested after his grandmother found dead, wrapped in plastic bags in bedroom
A Queens man has been arrested after his 85-year-old grandmother was found dead and wrapped in 16 black plastic garbage bags in her bedroom surrounded by air fresheners, police and sources said Thursday.
Christopher Fuhrer, 30, was charged with hiding the body of Erika Kraus-Breslin, a retired bakery worker and widow beloved in her Ridgewood neighborhood.
The case was particularly tragic because 13 years ago, Kraus-Breslin took in Fuhrer when he was about 17 after he had nowhere else to go, friends said.
“She’d say, ‘He had no place to go. He needs me,’” said Toni Binanti, who employed Kraus-Breslin at Rudy’s Bakery in Ridgewood. Read more on this story…
